Public Voting open Monday, May 2nd!
Communities across the United States answered the call for innovations by submitting creative, replicable and sustainable innovations that demonstrate outstanding leadership and promising results. By the deadline of March 1, 2011 the Healthy Living Innovations Awards received 245 exciting applications! An expert panel of HHS judges reviewed every submission and identified finalists in each of the seven award categories: Faith-Based and/or Community Initiatives; Health Care Delivery; Healthy Workplace; Non-Profit; Public Sector; Schools (K-12); and Let’s Move Cities and Towns. Those finalists are being contacted and informed they will be going onto Public Voting. Submissions not moving forward will receive a formal letter of recognition and thanks from the Secretary of HHS in the coming weeks.
Starting May 2nd, 2011 it’s the public’s turn to weigh-in on their favorite healthy living innovations by casting their votes in each category.
Winning nominations will be announced in July 2011. They will receive awards from the Secretary of Health and Human Services at a public recognition ceremony, and will have the opportunity to present their innovations at a national conference.
