Disappointed....

It was disappointing to learn that finalists have been selected and that those of us who were not selected were not even notified by email. It was also sad to see that two out of the three "Let's Move" Cities and Towns nominations were not even projects nominated by a City or even reference an affiliation with a City, which being initiated by an elected official is a requirement of Let's Move Cities and Towns. Once again, it appears that the focus of the Federal Government is larger cities and not smaller rural towns who are also trying to make a difference. For that, I am greatly disappointed.

Thank you for your comment. An expert panel of judges reviewed every submission and determined that the submissions that have moved on to Public Voting are appropriate for their respective categories. A complete listing of Let’s Move! Cities and Towns can be viewed here:  http://www.hhs.gov/intergovernmental/letsmove/cities_towns.html
We received many exciting applications for the Let’s Move Cities and Towns category, and it was very difficult to narrow down to 3.  HHS greatly values your interest in the Health Living Innovation Awards;  we encourage you to continue your valuable work in rural communities, and hope that you will apply again next year!  Submissions that were not selected to move on to the Public Voting period will receive an official letter of appreciation from the Secretary in the coming weeks.
